Meghan Grant

Dr. Meghan R. Grant MD CM, FRCPC, Dip. Sport Med, is a co-founder of Leap Biosystems.

Dr. Grant is a practicing Emergency Department Physician at Vancouver General Hospital, and serves as a Clinical Instructor at the University of British Columbia.

Dr. Grant completed a Bachelor of Science at the University of Alberta, medical school at McGill University, and combined residency and fellowship training in both Emergency Medicine and Sport and Exercise Medicine at the University of British Columbia. Her medical career has also included coverage of major international sporting events, rural communities in Canada and Africa, and a deployment of British Columbia’s Mobile Medical Unit (MMU).

Dr. Grant’s research experience includes microgravity analogue studies in parabolic flight and in the laboratory setting, for which she was awarded the International Astronautical Federation’s Research Medal in 2004.

Dr. Grant was recently a Team Canada athlete, competing in road and track cycling events worldwide from 2015 onward, and was part of Canada's Gold-medal-winning Team Pursuit squad at the 2017 Pan American Championships. She holds a special interest in human high-performance physiology and psychology in extreme environments, and is also an advanced open water diver.
